Cristiano Ronaldo tops list of most paid footballers with total earnings worth $105m

Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has emerged as the highest-paid footballer in the world according to the latest rankings released by Forbes.

The 35-year-old earned a staggering sum of $105 million dollars between the period June 1, 2019, to June 1, 2020.

Though the outbreak of deadly coronavirus forced the Portuguese star to take a pay cut at his Serie A club, he is however unshaken in his annual earnings.

The former Manchester United winger gaps his archrival and Barcelona legend Lionel Messi with just $1 million during the period under review.

Current world’s most expensive player Nemar Jr closely following the multiple Ballon d’Or winners with a total of $95 million in the last one year.

The Brazilian has been heavily linked with a return to Camp Nou – a move that might materialise eventually this summer if the Catalans persist.

It is however unsure how the move will affect his projections in earnings in the next one year with reports claiming he will take a salary slash before seeing his dreams come back to life.
